Since Johanna Rehn was young she has had a great passion to create things, big and small. She discovered the paintbrush in her early years and haven´t been able to let it go since.

She is born and raised in Lomma, by the coast in the south of Sweden, which has given her the need for the ocean and nature. Johanna also has a big interest in people, visually to apply on the canvas, and socially for thoughts and inspiration.

Johanna has spent her time painting and illustrating fulltime since 2004.
After a few months she put up her first show at Aurora in Lund. Back then the studio was a minimal apartment of 20 squaremeters.
In September 2005 Johannas studio moved into Malmö and “Ugglanhuset”; a creative office for freelancers. That was the beginning to new inspiration and friends and Johanna started to illustrate more and found the field of childrens books inspiring.
That led to projects like Belfrage förlags “Krullan”, a serie of childrens books, and Ica Bokförlags "Massagesagor", a tactile massage story for big and small children.

Two intense years followed with illustrations and exhibitions, until Johanna applied to an artschool in Florence; Lorenzo de Medici. There she spent two semesters with practical and theoretical knowledge in art. The experience resulted in new ways of depicting and that was for example when the wall-papers appeared in her art.

"Landet" is the new spot for creation, come visit my studio at Mäster Danielsg. 3, close by St. Knuts torg in Malmö.
